Dr. Erik Mendelsohn—an implant, cosmetic, and general dentist in Egg Harbor Township, NJ—recently spent extensive time on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic. From January 25-27, 2013, Dr. Erik Mendelsohn joined a team of highly trained implant surgeons to Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic to offer missionary services to underprivileged Dominicans.

Along with other health professionals from across the United States, Dr. Erik Mendelsohn packed medical and dental supplies into the facilities at Universidad Federico Henriquez y Carvajal. At the University clinics, Dr. Erik performed numerous dental surgeries on its residents. Some of the surgical procedures provided were bone grafting, sinus lifts, extractions and the placement of dental implants.

The pan-Dominican medical mission was led by renowned dental implant instructor Dr. Arun Garg of Implant Seminars, current president of The American Dental Implant Association, ADIA.

Dr. Erik Mendelsohn and other dentists donated over thirty hours of surgery over three days.

For Dr. Erik, the experience in the Dominican Republic cannot be summed up in words. To use the surgical and implant skills that he has spent such extensive time and effort perfecting to help people in need achieve a healthy, complete and beautiful smile was truly amazing. Dr. Erik Mendelsohn looks forward to the day he can return to help more people in need.
